How fast does Char.gy charge my car?

Char.gy charge points are classed as fast chargers. This means our charger speeds range from ~5kW* to ~22kW*.

The amount of time it will take to complete a charging session depends on :

1. which model of electric vehicle you're charging
2. how empty your battery is
3. the speed of the charge point.

Char.gy currently offer three different types of charge point:

• Charge point attached to the lamppost (rated up to ~7kW*)
• 1-phase bollard style charge point (rated up to ~7kW*)
• 3-phase bollard style charge point (rated up to ~22kW*)

If you have a 58kWh battery in your car that is half empty, it would take approximately 4 hours on a 7kW charge point to charge the battery to 100%. Please note that with most vehicles, the full total battery capacity is different from the useable capacity. For more information in this, please view our guide on Total battery capacity vs. usable battery capacity.

In order to find out the speed of the charge point you're using, look out for the speed indicator information on the web and mobile app listings for charge points :

*speeds may vary depending on if the charge point is using power from the lamppost or one nearby.
